With my friend Helen Zaltzman, I co-host ‘Answer Me This!‘, an interactive comedy podcast, which has twice won the Best Internet Programme’ Award at the Sony Radio Academy Awards (Silver in 2010 and Gold in 2011), a European Podcast Award in 2012, and a British Public Radio Award in 2013. We celebrated our tenth birthday in 2017.

Funny, snappy, and popular... Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann have risen above the morass of homemade radio shows on the internet

Witty, inventive and moreish
— James Kettle, The Guardian
A great listen: witty, warm and winning. Time flies as you listen, and you smile as you do. Ace.
— Miranda Sawyer, The Observer
A great podcast that makes me miss doing one

Over the years, thousands of listeners have emailed or called us with their pressing concerns – everything from “Does coconut milk curdle?” to “Why is it that whenever I travel on the bus I get an erection?”. The show regularly reaches the UK Top 10 podcast chart, and, with more than four million downloads per year, is one of the most popular independent podcasts in the world. Our special guests have included Jon Ronson, Isy Suttie and Jackie Mason.

We have been ‘Critic’s Choice’ in The Times, Time Out, The Guardian, Q Magazine, Radio Times, and The Independent, and have an average rating of four-and-a-half stars across more than 1000 review on iTunes.

In June 2012, our spin-off album, Answer Me This! Jubilee reached the UK Top 20 album chart and #1 on the Comedy chart, as did its successors, Sports Day and Holiday. We were the first ever non-musical act invited to perform at the iTunes Festival, we have made a video-series for VisitBritain and Faber published a book of the show.

In September 2012 we were invited to speak at the Next Radio conference about ‘The Perils of Podcasting’. You can watch that video here, and, if you enjoyed that, there’s more of us talking about podcasting in this special Radio Academy event recorded in 2014, on the tenth anniversary of podcasting, at the Apple Store in Regent Street.
